School Revise · Class 12 Accountancy · Chapter 4
A new partner brings capital and a share of goodwill. We find the firm goodwill, revalue, and share reserves among the old partners.
If the new partner brings goodwill for a share, the firm goodwill = goodwill brought / share of the new partner. The old partners share it in their sacrificing ratio.
Assets and liabilities are revalued and reserves shared among the old partners in the old ratio, before the new partner is admitted.
