Code 402, Class 10. A word processor can do much more than plain text. Here we use styles, a table of contents, mail merge and track changes.
|
|
Advanced word processing saves time on long documents. We use styles and templates, build a table of contents, run a mail merge, and review with track changes.
A style is a saved set of formatting (font, size, colour) that you apply in one click, keeping a document consistent. A template is a ready made document you start from, such as a letter or resume.
A table of contents is built automatically from the heading styles and updates itself. Mail merge makes many personalised letters from one main document and a list of names and addresses.
You can insert and wrap images around text. Track changes records every edit so a reviewer can accept or reject them, which is useful when many people work on one document.
Explore the idea by tapping. The interactive opens right here in the lesson.
