Introduction: AI for Everyone

What this unit is about
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making machines do tasks that usually need human intelligence, such as seeing, understanding language and making decisions.
1. What is AI and its types
AI ranges from narrow AI (good at one task, like a spam filter) to the idea of general AI (as capable as a human, not yet real). Most AI today is narrow AI.
2. The three domains of AI
AI works in three domains: Data (learning from numbers and records), Computer Vision (understanding images), and Natural Language Processing (understanding text and speech).
3. Benefits and limitations
AI is fast, works all day and spots patterns, but it needs a lot of data, can be biased if the data is unfair, and cannot truly understand or feel like a human.
