AI Ethics and Values
Code 843, Class 11. AI must be used fairly and responsibly. Here we learn about bias, privacy and using AI for good.

What this unit is about
AI ethics is about using AI in a way that is fair, safe and honest, so it helps people and does not harm them.
1. Bias and fairness
Bias happens when AI is unfair, often because its data was unfair. For example, if training data leaves out a group, the AI may treat that group unfairly. We fix this with fair, balanced data.
2. Privacy and safety
AI uses a lot of data, so privacy matters: personal data must be protected and used only with permission. AI should be safe and its decisions should be explainable.
3. Using AI for good
Responsible AI is transparent (clear about how it works), accountable (someone is responsible), and used to help people, such as in healthcare and education.
